Everyone who has known me for any length of time, knows that I have been a pro-wrestling fan since childhood.  There have been many great men who wrestled up and down each coast and throughout the midwest arenas.. but not many early women wrestlers actually stick to mind. (trust me.. the “Divas” are NOT real women wrestlers)

Mae Young, The Fabulous Moolah have been, unfortunately, reduced to jokes in the later years of their appearances in the WWE – and Chyna proved to be so tough on the women’s circuit, that she actually started wrestling men… but, after Mae and Mooah.. and before there was Chyna.  There was Luna Vachon.

Luna’s career started in 1985 under stable of Kevin Sullivan’s “Army of Darkness” before spending time in the Japanese wrestling circles with her father “Butcher” and uncle “Mad Dog” Vachon, where she made a long-time rival out of (former WCW women’s champ) Medusa.

Luna traveled the world during her career, and eventually landed a contract with the WWE.. unfortunately for her, the WWE’s women’s division was reduced to valets and eye-candy for most of her time there.. until revived in 1993 where she went head to head against her old nemesis Medusa once more.  Her career continued through the WWE, ECW and later, the independent circuit until 2007.

In early 2010, her home burned down, destroying all of her possessions, and she began staying at her mother’s house… Where she was found, today.

Luna Vachon was found, on August 27th 2010.  Cause of death has not been released at this time.

We can expect a mention to Luna on WWE Raw this coming Monday.

Well, it’s back to the real world, after a great weekend in Vegas. Things were better this year by far.. but, I still had a few issues.

Vendors.  We needed more of them, and I mean “little guys”, not the big bus parked in the middle of the floor.. I mean custom artwork, like character portrait artists, maybe someone selling swords or other replicas.

Platinum Pass was well worth it, I think.  The lounge and early access was good.

The DJ at the Platinum Karaoke party had much to be desired, the selection was lacking and didn’t know a lot about sound-checking for the acoustics of that sized hall, that I could tell.  The constant drowning bass was ear-splitting and he kept raising the music level to bury our voices.

Event staff, please take notice.. I Am A DJ and would not charge you a cent if you supply the sound system, for next years FF.

The buffet was a lot better this year. Not only in taste, but preparation for the crowd.

The Legion.  I have to thank all who came.  Trueflight, Cheddarella, Hoopy, Lovell, Kerewyn, Hudd, Roewane, Andriella, Uurson, Santinea, along with Elquinjena and myself.  I know some of who were busy with other folks and guilds from other servers, though we didn’t get to hang out as much as I could have wished, it was great to see you all – some for the first time.

What we learned

The next expansion for EQ2 will be based of the continent of Velious.  No word on Snow Bunnies just yet.  Start saving your platinum and status points for flying mounts!

They’re working on letting our toons sit on chairs, once they have that perfected, then laying on beds should be a snap and soon to follow.

Riding animation is being fixed, so toons with tails and cloaks will look more natural.

More harvesting depot storage is coming.

EverQuest Next is in the works and we got to see screenshots of innothule and freeport.  Classes are going back to basics and will be more logical in skills and abilities.  I can’t wait to hear and see more.

As a first, we inducted 2 new players to the LOK during the faire!  So, welcome aboard !

The People.

We met so many great folks and it was a pleasure to hug and shake hands with the lot of you.

Mostly everyone was so friendly and gracious.  New and veteran Fans alike.  I look forward to next Fanfaire (if we can pull it off)

With heat waves rising across the lands, we at kithicor.org wanted to know what the common person was doing to help against the scorching sun.  Here’s what a few of you gave as tips…

From Rivervale:  Stay indoors and make sure to drink plenty of water.  Stay low to the ground and see if you can find a nice shady spot, like under a  hedge or something.

From Kaladim:  Underground is the place to be.. yes, nice and cool there and lots of ale for keeping your thirst down.. what? ale was water in it too ya know!

From Kelethin:  Try to find a nice tree to rest under, preferably with a good sized water source nearby with a lot of wings flapping around for the breeze.

From Qeynos:  A nice relaxing day at the beach is just the thing! But, make sure to by careful in the sun, you don’t want to get burned.

From Lavastorm:  eh? wat you takin bout?  I tink it’s cooler den yesderday!

From Neriak:  Stop Bothering me with your childish questions!  The heat will surely make tempers flair and turn brother against brother!  haha.. hahaha. HAHAHAHA!!

From Freeport, we interviewed a few Ogres and Trolls who to had this to say:  Ice Kream!!  ya.. Marinate.. errr.. soak da halflings in da Ice Kream for few hours! (we heard tummy rumbles and left after that)

From Maj’dul, we were suddenly surrounded by beggers, who said:  There is no escape from the eye of Ro!!  We are cursed!!  Woe is he to falls to the Eye of Ro!! – and so and and so forth

We had to stop interviews there, because some one in Maj’dul stole our traveling expenses and ran off with our camels.

Misfired Pillar of Flame

Celebrating the 4th of July can be fun, exciting, entertaining.. but also very dangerous.  Please keep safety in mind, this weekend, when partying or celebrating the birth of the U.S. by blowing up a piece of it.

Gnomish Fireworks, of course, are proven safe and fun.  But, be weary of imitation pyrotechnics which may nuke your party from within.

Be sure that Wizard is sober, before asking him to put in a show for your guests – nothing brings a party to a halt, like a misfired Pillar of Flame – sure it’s great for those well-done steaks, but not so great for fluffy the wonder cat.

Beware of a new trend this year.. Dwarfish Fire Kegs!  That’s right, some genius decided to allow the Dwarves to develope their own festival fireworks, basically consisting of a keg filled with Lamp Oil and mining explosives, and a wick that’s far too short for any measure of safety.

So have fun, adventure and really wild times out there.. but let’s all come back home safe and live another day… to go fight dragons and orcs..
