Let’s face it, you’re here on this site because you’re a Gamer.  Here are some movies any Gamer may find interesting: (linked to their Netflix info when available)

First, let’s begin with low-budget, Gamer-Made Productions

Gamerz

Gamerz

  • Gamerz (netflix) 2005 NR, Scottland
    • Young Ralph copes with college life by immersing himself into a fantasy role playing game.  What happens when things get taken too far and fantasy-revenge for a real-life heartbreak threatens to end friendships and get him kicked out of school?
    • Jethal and Elquin  gave it 3-1/2 out of 5 arrows.
    • We note that the video was REALLY made in Scotland by Scottish actors.. accents are very thick and sometimes hard to understand.

The Gamers

  • The Gamers (watch online) or (buy) 2002, NR, US
    • Follow this group of Table-Top RP’ers as they bring us one of their campaigns to defeat… the Shadow..
    • We have not seen this video yet

The Gamers: Dorkness Rising

  • The Gamers 2:  Dorkness Rising (netflix) 2008, NR, US
    • The Gamers are back, and this time they have a budget!  This time our beloved gamers are sworn to return a religious artifact to their king before the wicked and naughty Mort Kemnon may use it for this own evil schemes.
    • Jethal and Elquin give it 5 arrows!!
    • Great story, good acting – and watch for the bard-deaths!

The Guild

  • The Guild (watch online)
    • For those who haven’t seen this show before, it’s an internet sensation about a guild of online gamers, mostly viewed through their web-cams.  Some of you will be thinking “why didn’t I think of that??”
    • We haven’t seen all the episodes yet, but looking like a 5-arrow hit!

And Now we move on to Professional Acting!

Mazes & Monsters

Mazes & Monsters

  • Mazes & Monsters (netflix) 1982, PG, US
    • College student Robbie Wheeling (Tom Hanks) and his buddies share an obsession with the game. To make the play more realistic, they decide to move the game off the board and into a cavern steeped in local legend. But once there, Robbie starts having visions, and the line between reality and fantasy blurs into a dangerous adventure.
    • Not a happy Tale, but we give it 3-1/2 arrows
Dungeons & Dragons

Dungeons & Dragons

  • Dungeons & Dragons (netflix) 2000, PG, US
    • Ridley and Snailz con their way right into the middle of a war between battling Mage factions and being chased by elves, dragons and shadowknights.
    • The story was good, the acting was juvenile.. and not even worthy of the Sci-Fi Channel.
D&D Wrath of the Dragon God

D&D Wrath of the Dragon God

  • Dungeons & Dragons:  Wrath of the Dragon God (netflix) 2005, NR
    • The evil sorcerer Damodar (Bruce Payne) steals a powerful black orb and uses it to plot vengeance against the kingdom of Ismir by unleashing an army of gruesome creatures. To stop Damodar, warrior Berek and sorceress Melora join four heroes representing intelligence, wisdom, honor and strength to reach the vault room that houses the magical sphere.
    • Alot better than the first D&D Movie.. but still.. Sci-Fi Channel quality, some may like it.

No Gamer would be complete without these movies…

The Dark Crystal

Dragon Heart

Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring
