Is it a surprise to anyone actually watching MTV that the network on Monday quietly dropped “Music Television” from its logo? Probably not. It’s a wonder that anyone even noticed the difference.

Monday, the 8th of February saw the first change to the Mtv Logo in 29 years, marking the total-scrapping of the original business model of a channel that broadcasts music news, information and videos – in stead, is now a cesspool of crappy reality tv shows.

As someone who grew up in the 80′s I can’t help but be alittle saddened by the turn of events that led to this abomination of a basic-cable station.

From “Video Killed the Radio Star” to “Snookie Gets Punched in the Face“, Mtv has made a dramatic shift to being exactly what my parents warned about.. “Total garbage that’ll rot your brain

Music TeleVision – Rest in Peace.  Finally.

    So sad, Mtv has gone down so fast since 2000. The channel has come full circle. No more Videos, no more will watch.. save for ABDC *LOL*

    It all started with “Yo Mtv Raps” and went downhill from there.

    Such a sad day, how an icon of music and something that changed the world could meet such a tragic end. It feels like a favorite artist of my youth passing away after a long illness.

    Reality killed the video star.
